Bank Holiday List October 2022::-The month of October is packed with events, marking the beginning of the summer festival season. Many important religious celebrations, including Durga Puja, Dussehra, Diwali, Chhath Pooja, and many more, will take place this month. Thus, beginning Monday, several cities’ banks will be closed for the whole week. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) publishes a monthly list of bank holidays to give advance notice to consumers of when their banks will be closed. Since you’re not in any danger, you should be aware of when things occur.

Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act; Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday; and Banks’ Closing of Accounts are the three categories into which the Reserve Bank of India divides its Holidays. Banks in the states of Tripura, Orissa, Sikkim, Manipur, Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, and Kerala will be closed on October 2 in observance of Durga Puja (Maha Ashtami).

October 4 (Tuesday)

Banks will be closed in Agartala, Karnataka, Orissa, Sikkim, Kerala, Maharashtra, Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Meghalaya on account of the Durga Puja, Dussehra, Maha Navami, Ayudha Pooja, and Janmotsav of Srimanta Sankardeva.

October 5 (Wednesday)

All states except Manipur will have bank holidays on the occasion of Durga Puja/Dussehra (Vijaya Dashmi)/Janmotsav of Srimanta Sankardeva.

October 6 (Thursday)

Banks in Gangtok, Sikkim, will be closed on the day of Durga Puja (Dasain).

In Gangtok, Sikkim, banks won’t open on the day of Durga Puja (Dasain).

October 8 (Saturday)

The alternate Saturday after the first. The nation’s financial institutions will stay closed. Banks in Madhya Pradesh, Jammu, Kerala, and Himachal Pradesh will also be closed on the occasion of Milad-i-Sherif/Eid-i-Milad-ul-Nabi (Birthday of Prophet Mohammed).

Weekly Off. The nation’s financial institutions will stay closed.

October 13 (Thursday)

Shimla, Himachal Pradesh’s banks will be closed on Karva Chauth.

October 14 (Friday)

Banks in Jammu and Srinagar will be closed on Eid-i-Milad-ul-Nabi.

All banks will be closed on November 14 in observance of Kali Puja, Deepavali, Diwali (Laxmi Pujan), and Naraka Chaturdashi, with the exceptions of Sikkim, Telangana, and Manipur.

State banks in Sikkim, Telangana, Manipur, and Rajasthan will be closed on Laxmi Puja/Deepawali/Govardhan Pooja.

October 26 (Wednesday)

Banks in Gujarat, Maharastra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Srinagar will be closed on the occasion of Govardhan Pooja/Vikram Samvant New Year Day/Bhai Bij/Bhai Duj/Diwali (Bali Pratipada)/Laxmi Puja/Accession Day.

October 27 (Thursday)

Banks in Sikkim, Manipur, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh won’t be open on the holidays of Bhaidooj, Chitragupt Jayanti, Laxmi Puja, Deepawali, and Ningol Chakkouba.

October 30 (Sunday)

Weekly Off. The nation’s financial institutions will stay closed.

October 31 (Monday)

Banks will be closed in the states of Gujarat, Bihar, and Jharkhand on October 31, in observance of the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Surya Pashti Dala Chhath (Morning ardhya), and the Chhath Puja.
